Foreign letters

Since using XP Pro, I can no longer use the commands for
several of the German Umlauts, the two little "dots"
or "quotation marks" over a o u an A O U. The former
commands were Alt and numbers from the number pad. Not
all of them have changed, but it is annoying to me since I
am bi-lingual and use the Umlauts often.

Any help is appreciated!

Hey.
Have you tried this: Press and hold down ALT-key, then
press the key with the two little dots. (Nothing will
show on screen), then release ALT-key and press the
letter you want. i.e U, the result should be like this: Ü

You need to look at your locale and set it for the German keyboard
instead of English. I believe this is under the keyboard applet in
Control Panel (sorry, the XP box is not on right now).
