FORCING RPC OVER HTTP-OUTLOOK 2003/2007

I realize there are setting in the Exchange Proxy section of Outlook
2003/2007 but I thought I had heard somewhere that even if you check the
boxes to preferably use RPC over HTTP as opposed to TCP/IP in all connection
attempts that Outlook would still directly connect to the back-end server via
TCP/IP if you are on the local-area network the Exchange back-end server
resides on. Is this true? If so, is there a work around to force the HTTP
attempt even if on the LAN?

Sounds like you might be asking about the DisableRpcTcpFallback registry
value.
