Dear all,

I have heard that, the everyone group in XP is more secure that it was under
2000 fro the simple reason that according to some articles I could read, it
used the ForceGuest feature scenario.

This feature mentionned that even if you specified a valide user name on a
client system to log on an XP client, if a share ressource do not contain at
least the everyone group it will not logg in.

Does anyone of you have tried this ? becasue I was not really able to verify
this in practice

Thanks for your information..
Serge

Serge,

Simple File Sharing and therefore Windows XP Home Edition always
work that way. I'm not sure whether they use the ForceGuest
setting, but they anyway connect only with Guest authentication.

I don't understand, however, why the Everyone group should be
safer if using Guest authentication.
