Force Remote Shutdown

Hi! My home desktop is running Windows XP Home (SP2) and I realise that XP
Home doesn't have Group Policy Editor. Is it possible to allow another
computer on the network to shutdown the desktop? If so, how would I go about
enabling this? I would assume it's somewhere in the registry, but I'm not
game to fiddle with the registry without any professional advise!

Thanks for your help, whoever it may be!

Hi Ian! Thanks for your reply! I've downloaded the program on both the
remote and desktop computer. I've told PowerOff to run as a service on the
desktop (the one I wish to shutdown) and allowed it through the firewall.
However, when I try to shut it down (using PowerOff) from the remote
computer, it always just returns an error message "Connection timed out".
I've made sure that the remote computer has full access through the firewall,
but it still doesn't work... I'm certain, to my knowledge, that everything
is set up correctly with PowerOff... However, I'm not familiar with the
program... Any other suggestions, anyone?

ps - Wake-On-LAN works (I've used a different freeware program to WOL but
this program's shutdown function also doesnt work...)

Thanks for your help!
