Force input & colour cells

What I want to do is this -

If Cell A1 contains a value, I want to force the user to enter
someting in cells H1 & K1, as well as well as colour cell K1 based on
what is entered in cell K1. So, for example:

A1 contains Credit Card. So, as it contains a value, I want to ensure
that something is entered in H1 & K1. If I enter 'Completed' in K1, I
want it to show as green. The colouring I have done, using
coonditional formatting, but I can't get the force entry part working.

Am using Excel 2003.

Here ya go, dude.

I took a guess at where you *might* be heading, but the basics of
forced menuing are there.

Essentially two drop down menus that are dependent on the choice made
in A1.

over the Christmas period, I haven't had the chance to look back at
