I have just discovered a very strange thing in Access 2000. I don't know
about other versions.

It seems to be impossible to enter the word "alway" into a text field.
Whenever you leave the field, access adds an "s" on the end. Does anyone
know about this?

Sounds as though you've got Autocorrect turned on, and the Spellchecker is
trying to help you out

Autocorrect is a property of the text box: just set it to No.

Of course, "ALWAY" is not a word, so I'm not sure why you'd want to type it
:-)

If you only want to type alway then follow Douglas advice If you want type
more then the word "alway" like: alway I do not nothing. Then zoom the
textbox and the spellingcheck not works :-)

hah!

Al-way, adv. [ME alway, alle wey; AS ealne weg; ealne, acc. of eal,
all, and weg, acc. of weg, way; all the way.] Always. [Archaic or
poetic.]

- Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary

I feel that I have known this meaning - alway.

Thanks Douglas, I never knew there was an auto-correct function. After about
10 years it shows up with a strange surname. Glad we keep learning. BTW auto
correct in a memo field does not stop "alway".
