For poetry, how do you have a lower case letter after a paragraph

I am writing a poem. I used a paragraph mark for the line break,
then did a search and replace and substituted a manual line break for the
paragraph marks, but there are still capital letters at the beginning of each
line. I would like there to only be capital letters after a period. Is there
a way to do this?

try using "shift+enter" for manual line breaks WHILE typing. This should do
the trick

Thanks, Chris, but I am more comfortable with using "Enter" while I'm typing,
and am hoping there is a way to "search & replace" when I'm finished rather
than doing "Shift+enter" while I'm typing....

There is no easy way to search for capital letters at the beginning of a
line and replace them with lowercase. You could use Format | Change Case |
Sentence case, but then you'd have to be sure to go back and recap any
proper nouns. It would be much more efficient to train yourself to use a
line break at the end of the line while typing.

You could turn off the autocorrect captilization feature all together. You
could then type caps just when you wanted them. Go to Tools > Autocorrect
options > and uncheck Capitalize first letter of sentences.

Alternatively, go into Tools > AutoCorrect Options, on the AutoCorrect tab,
and uncheck the box for "Capitalize first letter of sentences". Then nothing
will be automatically capitalized, and you'll have to use the Shift key to
capitalize when you want it. (Trained originally as a typist, that's what
I've always done.)

Finding the capitals with Find is no problem. Automatically replacing with
the corresponding lowercase letter using Replace, however, is a problem. To
automate this, you would need a macro. The macro would look for a capital
letter following a paragraph mark, then change the case of the capital to
lower.
