Footnotes

In Word 2000 (I know it is OLD!) the footnotes don't appear at the bottom of
the page on the correct pages (referenced on pg 16 noted on pg 15)
Opening the document in 2007 this issue doesn't appear to happen

So you don't actually have a problem?

There's a compatibility setting in later versions of Word, "format
footnotes as in [some earlier version]," which can have the result of
putting footnotes on the wrong page.

It's one of those options for which there is no indication whatsoever
of what it is supposed to do.
