Footnote

Yolande Choquette

I use Word 97.

I have a document with a table of about 15 pages.

I want to insert 3 footnotes on page 1, 2 and 3 and each note must have the
number 1.

When I go in the options of the footnotes, it only gives me the option of
having no. 1 at each page. When I arrive at page 4, it still has no. 1 on
my footnote.

The document has no section break as it is a table.

How do I do my foot notes?

Page 1 - footnote 1
Page 2 - footnote 1
Page 3 - footnote 1
Page 4 - footnote 2
Page 5 - footnote 3

Thanks in advance.

When you insert the footnote, check the 'Custom Mark' option and insert the
number you want as the mark.

Hi Yolande,

Are the first three footnote references pointing to the same exact
footnote text?

If so, you can insert the footnote once, then use the Insert -> Cross
Reference feature to repeat the footnote reference number as needed.
