Footers Blinking

Footers are blinking and simultaneously shifting from usual width to "off the
page." In addition, each time I scroll down to a different page, Word
re-paginates. Sometimes the numbering is off, i.e. 85 of 76. This problem
happened when I pasted in 9 pages from another Word document. When I clicked
on UNDO, the error "went away." Details. Document is 76 pages without the new
copy and 85 pages with the new paste. Numerous sections, numbered headings,
h1 - h4.

If possible, copy and paste the plain text into a new document, just the
text. Save the document under a different name. Then enter new footers,
pagination, numbered headings, etc. To move a little faster through the 76
pages, try to zoom out (25%), so that more than one page appears at a time.
Access "Edit", then "Select All", to copy and paste. This will work, just so
long as it selects the text only. This is if you're working in Print Layout
View.

Someone else might know of a different way.
