Footer Numbering Problems

When making a number of amendments to a large document such as our ISO
Quality Manual over a period of time, there is a need for the footer at the
bottom of each page to reflect the issue number of the amendment eg. page 20
may be issue 1, page 21 issue 5, page 22 issue 3 and so on. It seems that a
change made to one footer is copied across to all the other footers. So, how
can a change be made to an individual footer without affecting all the others?

Are there any solutions for my problem?

Many thanks in advance for answering or any help on this subject...

Instead of using Section Breaks for each issue, you could use StyleRef field
in the footer which would pick up the Issue Number which you could (if you
don't already) insert at the start of the text for each issue, using a new
style (IssueNumber ?) specifiaclly for that information. The StyleRef field
will automaictally reflect the changes for each page.
Hope this is clear (as mud).
All the best
