fonts messed up in Vista

I just got a new computer with Vista and have since experienced numerous
problems with my Adobe CS2 and CS3 applications not finding many fonts that I
know are installed and active. After doing some research I noticed that every
single font in my system folder has been 'converted' or 'renamed' as an
Opentype font even though many of them are TrueType fonts. My Adobe
applications can no longer find the TrueType fonts. When I open the system
fonts folder and click on one that is actually a TrueType it shows it as
OpenType. Any suggestions on how I can get my fonts correctly identified as
TrueType?

You should contact Adobe about how to deal with this. Adobe also has
excellent user forums, go to www.adobe.com, click Support at the top of the
page and select Forums from the menu.
