Fonts I don't have in emails

I've noticed that often I will get an email that contains some text or a
signature in a font that I do not have on my machine. When I highlight the
text to see what font it is, it displays the name in the font box but when I
click the arrow to look for the font in the the drop downlist, it is not
there. When I go to control panel and look for the font in the font folder,
it also is not there.

So, when I send emails to others how can I insure that the font that I use
will display on their computer with the same font I used even if they don't
have that font, rather than substituting

You can't. I believe Word docs can embed the font inside the document
file so the recipient gets that font but e-mail doesn't include font
transfer. The closest matching font is used by the recipient that
doesn't have the same font installed.

If you send in plain-text mode, you don't have to worry about font
matching.

But that's what I want to do is have the fonts match. I forgot to mention
that I use Word as my email editor, so if go to OPTIONS | SAVE in Word and
specify to 'embed fonts' shouldn't the recipient receive the message with the
font I specify.

I don't use Word as an e-mail editor. You'll have to ask in a Word
newsgroup. Since the vast majority, if not all, the fonts you have
are copyrighted then distributing is probably illegal.
