font uncompatibilities

I have fonts from previous years most of them are
true type but xp will not let me load them saying they
are damaged and cannot be loaded. Can anyone offer
a solution to the situation

I have also noticed this problem and worked out a solution: XP uses a
different type of font file. Instead of the traditional TT logo in the icon,
it uses an O, which probably signifies a different type of font.
