Font Question

IE7, Vista Home Premium 32-bit
working on an HP Pavilion dv6000

My question is:
How do I make Windows Mail keep the font that's
used by the sender?

Whenever I receive emails the font that people use
is different than the way I get them. For
instance, if a friend used Veranda 14pt to email
me; when I receive it, it's Times New Romans 10pt.

Thanks for your help.

Is that message in plain text or HTML?
Only HTML can preserve the chosen font.

When you select that message, look at the source code by
pressing Ctrl+F3. Is the correct font name given in the HTML code?

Nothing happens when I press ctrl+F3 - maybe I'm
misunderstanding you.
I right clicked and clicked properties then msg.
source.
It said... Encoding: quoted printable, plain text

People sending me email have to set their email to
HTML in order for me to read it in their chosen
font and size?

You must either have the target message opened in
its own window, or else have it selected in the
message list pane. Press the Ctrl key, and while
continuing to hold that down, press the F3 function key.

Yes, the sender must have used HTML when he composed
the message, or else the chosen font won't hold.
Since the encoding said "plain text", that is the reason
why the composing font is not seen at the receiving end.
Plain text messages display using the font you have
selected under Tools, Options, Read, Fonts.
