Font problem in XP Pro

J

John

I just turned on my computer after getting back in, and
the default font for XP is now some sort of symbol font.

All my desktop icons, menus, and browser bars display
this symbol font. What happened, and how do I fix it?

TIA,

John

What happened?

Someone's been fiddling in the fonts folder without knowing what they were
doing.

How do I fix it?

You can either try a system restore, or extract the Windows fonts from the
CD. I forget which CAB they're stored in.

And next time don't go playing if you don't know what you're doing - it only
leads to trouble.
