Hi,

There is a fond that appears in the font drop down list when I use a Windows
product. But I looked in the font folder and can't find it there. Does anyone
know whether the font might be somewhere else? Is it possible for the name
that appears in font drop down lists to be different than the name of the
font? If yes, how is it possible to find out what the font is called in the
font folder?

Thanks.

All your fonts are not necessarily in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder
Many apps and programs have their own fonts. You can go to
Start>Search>Files and folders to look for a font if you know the name.
You can also do a global search for *.TTF or *.fon. Some of the font
names are very similar.

Thanks for the suggestions.

You're right. It was created by an application. But it's strange that I
can't find it anywhere (just tried your search suggestions - zilch).
Nevertheless it appears in the font drop down lists of my Office programs
(Word, Excel).

What is even more interesting is that when I sent my file to someone who
ought not have the font installed, he was able to see my file normally, even
though the font did not appear in his drop down list. The font name, however,
did display in the font box when the cursor was on a word that used the font.
