Font in Office word 2003

My font does not remain as the "default" I set. It reverts to Times roman 12.
Even if I " accept" the font, when I begin typing for some reason the font
turns "small". Has anyone had a similar experience and does anyone know what
I can do about it?

The font and its size must be established as the default in
the normal.dot template.
 
I know that- that is the problem !!!
Even when have set as default - dies not remain as such

Find and delete Normal.Dot, it will recreate itself; try again.

WInKey-F will bring up the search feature.

In the left find "files and folders" to search for, then input
normal.dot, drive to search if more that one and enter.

Do a search for it. Start | Search. Also for the future Word or Office

Normal.dot can be found in the \Office\Templates folder.
