I had Windows ""ME"" and it let me change a background in any of my windows.
I changed the background in the "My Documents" window. It has a floral
background, and WHITE font...........that was until I upgraded to windows XP
home edition.
Once I upgraded, the floral background in the My Documents window, carried
over. BUT...the font is now black.......and with the dark floral
background.......I CANNOT SEE THE TITLES............HELP I have tried to
change the appearance in the properties...........NO GO...........once I open
My Documents.......now.......there is NOT a ''view'' selection on the tool
bar............I have even tried tech help with microsoft........and the just
dont grasp the problem............any help......would be greatly
appreciated..........Johanna

You can change the font color
right click an empty spot on the desktop/properties/appearance/advanced
click is "window Text"
Item should say "Window"
click on the color arrow and pick a color
test it

No...this did not help. You have to pull up your Documents...and when that
window opens.........and all the items you have in there.......visualize the
font for the names of them...........the same color as the background....and
like I said...my background.......transferred from ME....is a purple floral
one..........dark purple....and the font for the names is in
black.........cannot see it..........
I did as you said...and all that did was change the font color.......in
other windows that I might open............its a mystery......even Microsoft
cannot help me...and if I could, I'd just get rid of the floral
background...........cant do that either........I'm just in a
pickle............****sigh****
