I recently upgraded to windows xp home edition.......how do you change the
font color below your desktop icons, and also having the same trouble in My
Documents......the font color is white there.....and my background is mostly
white.....to hard to read!

Go to your desk top and right click on an empty spot, go to properties, then
apperance tab, go down to the effects tab you can change it some there, go to
box checked use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts click on
blue arrow left click and select clear type this will just put some black
outline on the fonts I dont know how to change color mayby it will help some
you can change the color of every thing in appearence tab just dont for get
to hit apply...

I don't believe you can change the font color for the icon lettering on
the Desktop without third-party theming software (see www.wincustomize
for that sort of thing). For everything else, go to
Display>Appearance>Advanced and change fonts/colors as you like.

Thank you. I had a feeling that you could not change it. And all this time I
have had the dumb ole ME version of Windows......and to think upgrading to
the XP...and you cannot do the font change.......it was so easy to do in
ME....My one favorite background i have in my window of My Documents is
mostly dark.......and the black font under each folder..is very hard to
read.......oh well..........thank you.............
