Font, Icons, Windows too big

I had downloaded a game, from a reliable website and when I finished playing
it, I returned to regular screen and found everything had more than doubled
in size. The fonts, the icons, the menu, the bar, etc. had all increased in
size and I can't find a way to fix it.
I don't know what happened, but I couldn't fix it by going in through
display options and changing the font and icon sizes. How can I get it back
to normal viewing state instead of having it all so big?

Did you try changing the resolution? Display Properties | Settings and
setting it to a higher resolution?

Some games change the screen resolution. They should return you to your
original settings when you exit the game but sometimes dont.

Right click on a free bit of desktop and click properties to bring up
display properties. Go to the settings tab and reset the screen resolution.
