Font color change won't stay

Dave

Hi,

I'm using Word 2000 with Windows ME. I typed a flyer and wanted to
change the font color from a standard color to another. I high-lighted
the selected text, clicked the font color drop down menu. I chose More
Colors option and clicked a color within the honey comb samples.

The text in the flyer changed to the desired color, but it didn't print
out as such. It kept the same standard color when printed.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any and all help,
Dave

Dave,

You did everything correctly as far as I can tell.
I replicated your actions and produced honey-
colored text--along with some regular black
test. When I first printed the test document,
the honey-colored text was barely dark enough
to read. Changed honey-colored text to bold
and got much better results. Honey on white
paper makes it tough on readers--like printing
yellow text on white paper. I'd bold the text
and add shading if you are determined to use
honey colors. Make the font size larger, too.

The only other thing I can think of is to check
your printer's properties File > Print > and
when the printer standard properties display,
click on the Properties button. When the
Properties display, you'll likely see two
radio buttons (color and black). Make sure
to click the color radio button). My printer
is an Epson 925 so you might have to play
around with your print options to check whether
color has been disabled.

Please don't tell us that you're printing on
honey-colored paper. (Giggle.)

Maybe you haven't explored all the possibilities yet. Have
you looked at your printer options? I can set up a printer
to print only b/w, grayscale no matter what my computer
says.
