Font changes?

I'm frustrated. Today, the default font in outlook is Times New Roman.
Every day for the last 2 years it's been Arial. I've follwed the instruction
on changing the font but it doesn't apply it. Amy I missing something?
 
Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Format-> button Fonts... is the place where you
can define this.
