A For-follow-up option should be available for Personal folders also just
like the main Inbox

What follow-up option are you referring to? When you make a suggestion to Microsoft, you need to be as specific as possible about the functionality you want to see added.

in outlook 2003, there is a "for follow-up" folder under the inbox and unread
mail folders. I would like to have a similar "for follow-up folder" inside
the personal folders so that if I move a message from my main Inbox to my
personal folder and that message has a follow-up tag to it, I do not lose the
follow-up tag as happens at present. outlook currently only considers those
messages in the inbox to check for follow-up tags. I hope I have made myself
clear.

You also can use a search folder in your .pst file. (Look under Personal Folders/ Search Folders.) Search folders cannot span different stores in the folder hierarchy, but you certainly can have one in your .pst file that does the same thing as the one in the mailbox.
