Follow up flag pop-up

Messages flagged for follow up only pop-up if the
messages are stored in the default in-box. If the
messages are stored in another folder than the pop-up
reminder function does not work. Is there a way to
change the properties of the folder or any default
settings to work around this?

No, however, depending on your version and mode of Outlook, there is a
program written by MVP Ken Slovak that will allow reminders to fire from
non-default folders.
