follow up flag folder

When i flag a message for followup, and try to delete it from the inbox, it
also deletes it from the follow up folder. Is there a way to remove it from
the inbox and still have it in the follow up folder?

The followup folder is not a real folder. It's a search context that
examines other folders and displays messages in those folders that match the
search criteria (for follow up). By removing it from the Inbox, it is no
longer in any folder and the Follow Up folder can't find it any more.

If you want to keep it, don't delete it. Move it to a different, real
folder that's you've created.
