Hello,

Right click on a folder\properties\customize here one can change the
template used for the respective folder (us this folder type as template:)
This is OK, but I cannot find how to set this for the root folder (example
for the root of c:\).
It is now assigned as "Music" folder and I want the root simple for "all
file types" (standard)

Any idea how?

Thanks for your help,
Perry

Hi Perry,

Open a folder. Tools > Folder Options > View > Reset All Folders.

Note that this also resets the customizations for all the folders. If you want to do it only for the C:\ folder, you may need to use Process Explorer or R'M. See this URL for more information:

See: Common Tasks Don't Match Folder Type
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_common_tasks.htm

[Or, use Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com]
1. Open C:\
2. Start P'Explorer
3. Switch the lower pane view to Handles, in order to find the 'Bag Number'. Once you locate the Bag #, go to that key and change the FolderType to "Documents".

Hello Ramesh,

I did the trick with the R'M application, very interesting. My problem is
solved.

Thanks a lot for your help.
