Folders slow and then freezes

Hello when I open my download folder it works for a few
seconds and then becomes slow then freezes when I try to
scroll down the folder. The folder is 25 gig in size. I
have never had this problem and my machine is a high end
one that should fly.

Does it have movies in it? If so changing your view away
from thumbnails will fix that problem. I have all my large
folders set to Detailed list, I dont want, nor do I need
to see a thumbnail. Besides, it slows the system down.
