Folders on desktop and cmd.exe?

I've noticed recently a strange behavior of my desktop folders:
When I click on any one of them, it opens a cmd.exe window within the
folder;
e.g.
C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel Royer\Desktop\Sony Z600>
instead of opening the folder.
What did I do wrong?

Daniel

You or a program played around with folders in the file types dialog (you) or in the registry (a program) and put an earlier version of windows there, as the file types dialog does.

Type in Start Run
regsvr32 /i shell32

Amen!
