folders act crazy!!!

When I left click on a folder, it opens the windows search page. Usually when
one right clicks on a folder "open" is the first option, however , in this
case "search": is the first option and "open" down to fifth. I've tried the
system restore option but it did not help.

however how do i get past that. I want the folder to open when I double
click it.
