folder types corruption??

I

Ivan

problem is when for example my music folder is marked as for videos, and it
cannot be changed because it is a system folder. the same thing happened
with almost all system folders and root drives. my system partition has
been marked as pictures folder so I lost my system tasks like "hide the
contest of this folder"

how can this corruption be fixed?

Try resetting the folder settings:

Click Start, Run and type C:\
Click Tools, Folder Options
In the View tab, click "Reset all folders"
Click OK.
Close the folder

If that does not help, try one of the following:

Common Tasks Don't Match Folder Type
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_common_tasks.htm

[Automate]
You can use Keith Miller's script to fix the problem. Download
"TaskPaneFix.zip" from here:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize/msg/d7dd4582cc4b2e99
Note: Close all folder windows before running this script.
