I have a new hard drive that I want to configure as a data drive. The C:
drive is filled with software and the data needs to be remoted to the new
drive. Using Windows XP Pro.
There are two people in the office that need access to the new drive from
other computers in the peer-to-peer network. That involves sharing and I get
lost in sharing folders. I use windows explorer to share the new data
folders. I don’t understand how to give people access nor to limit access.
Example:
D:\Mike
D:\Ryan
These two folders are on the new drive. If I want just these specific
people the right to access and modify the information in the foldes, how do I
accomplish it?
Using windows explorer I went to the Mike folder and right clicked to go to
sharing and security. Here I checked the box for “Sharing this folder . . .â€
and checked the box for “Allow network users . . . .†This gives anyone
access, but doesn’t limit access.
