Folder sharing and permission setting

I am using windows xp pro in a domain. when i share a
folder and then for assigning permissions to specific
user on domain, I press add and then go to locations to
add user from domain for sharing permissions, it does not
show domain, it is only showing local computer's name.

waiting for positive reply.
 
Sounds like the computer is not a member of the domain!
Or logged in locally perhaps!

See if the DNS server of your domain is listed under your TCP/IP properties
as the fisrt entry. If it isn't move to the first position.
