Folder redirection using GPO and offline settings

Matt

I redirect "My Documents" to a network share using GPO
(\\servername\sharename\%username%) and enable the folder
for offline use for laptop users.Works great....

I am replacing the file server and have started moving
user data over to the new box. I have changed the GPO for
the file redirection to point to the new share location
on the new server and it is working fine. The problem that
I am having is when it syncronizes the My Documents
folder, It syncs to the laptop fine from the new location
but it also still trys to make a connection and sync from
the old share on the old server even though it is changed
in the GPO. It also gives a popup that "old server" is
not availible. The old propertys are sticking with the
laptop even though the folder redirection is correct and
the offline settings and syn work fine pointing to the
new server.

The only way I have been able to get around this is to
delete the profile (Network and Local)and recreate it.The
only thing I can figure is there is something still
pointing to the old server in the profile.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how i can resolve this
issue without having to rebuild the profiles. Any help
would be great......

You need to disable offline caching on the Old server prior to moving it
over to the new server or clear the cache on the clients. The do not
recognize the move they see it as an additional share.

Clear the cache on the client computers.

Open My Computer, click the menu Tools , then click Folder Options, Select
the Offline Files tab in the appearing window Folder Options. Then do the
follow

Press down Shift + Ctrl, hold this keys down and click Delete Files.

This is a kind incorrect, because you doesn't have to disable the offline
caching at the old server share.

We may have the follow scenario:

Oldserver only contains one single share for example named VOL1 in this
share we have the follow folders

AppData
Shared Desktops
My Documents

Lets say we only want to move the redirected folders for My Documents, and
still use Redirection and Offline files for any kind of other resurses on
the old share
