Folder Redirection to Centralize Logons

Anyone know of problems with using Folder Redirection as a way of
centralizing a group of users' Start Menu and Desktop?

I have a group of users that use the same Start Menu and Desktop.
Right now we manually go to each computer and apply the shortcuts and
so forth. Wouldn't it be easier to make all the users have the same
Start Menu and Desktop with Folder Redirection?

Hi Kyle,

I suspect if it works when users use the same menu, because of permission.
However, if you use roaming profile, you can have the users menu on server
and you can modify them on the fly without going to the user pc.

With Folder Redirection you don't have to go to the users' PC either,
you would just make the change on the server as well.

Anyone know drawbacks with using Folder Redirection as a way to
centralize a group of users' Desktop and Start Menu settings.

Hi Kyle,

All I would say is the redirection is not designed to redirect all users'
folders to the same location. That will possibly cause problem in future.
