folder recovery

I installed Windows Vista Business and lost all folders and files on the
computer...any ideas how to get these back?

From the backup you made before you installed Vista.

Did you do an upgrade install of Vista or a clean install? If the latter
then the files are gone for good unless you want to spend many $'s obtaiming
the services of a data recovery company. If the former then PC Inspector
File Recovery from http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm
may help.
 
If you formatted the drive in the install process, you're out of luck unless
you want to spend thousand$ with a data recovery service.
If you upgraded without a format, look in Windows Old.
