Folder Protection

I know how to protect a workbook, worksheet or even
specific elements of a worksheet or workbook but I would
like to restrict access to a specific FOLDER (preferably
by password) and I am not sure whether this is possible. I
would be grateful for clarification.

this is not an Excel issue but should be done on OS
Network level. depending on your infrastructure you can
restrict the access to a shared directory/folder in your OS
