Hi All,

I created several desktop folders and they are opened in a certain position
but in most cases after a while if I close them and open them again they do
not return to the same position. What can be done to make sure that they
will return to the same position in the desktop area?

Thanks,

Doron

Rightclick Windows Explorer/Properties
In the Target line, add /e after explorer.exe (explorer.exe /e)
Make sure there is a space between exe and /e
Click Apply and OK
The /e is for extended

By default Windows XP is set to remember 400 views. There's a registry edit at Kelly's
site (line 2 on the left) to increase that number to 8000, which might fix your problem.
Go to:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Click the link on the left side of line 2: Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000, then
save the file bags8000.reg to your hard drive. After saving the file, find it, double
click it and allow it to add information to your registry. Also, open My Computer, click
the Tools menu, click Folder Options, click the View tab, scroll through the Advanced
Settings list and make sure that the item: Remember Each Folder's View Settings has a
checkmark in the box to the left. If the checkmark isn't there, click the box to add the
checkmark, and click the APPLY and OK buttons. Then reboot your system. Then open and
move one of the folders the position you want, close the folder and then reopen it to see
if the position is remembered.
