Folder permissions problem

I have a problem setting permission for read/write access
to several folders located in my Shared Documents
folder. I am logged in as administrator but still cannot
access my files or change permissions. (error message
says the folder is not accessable, access denied) Is
there a way to force read/write access for all users?
