Folder Options

When I try to load a file from the My Videos folders into a media player or
any program the files are listed as thumbnails. I switch to the list format,
but when I go to load another file it's back to the thumbnails. In windows
explorer I can switch to list and it wil stay that way, is there a way I can
permanently switch to list format when I load a file into a media player?

Do you have selected the "Remember each folder's view settings" check
box under Advanced Settings on the View tab of Folder Options in Control
Panel ?
