folder options in my computer

this isn't a huge problem but it is starting to annoy me.
when i open the MY COMPUTER icon on my desktop i have the
view folder set at ICONS. recently it changed to the
TILES option by itself. i keep changing it back to ICONS
but it keeps changing back to TILES EVERY time i open MY
COMPUTER. i've since discovered that it always changes
back from ICONS to TILES whenever i close the INTERNET
EXPLORER window. i've looked in the FOLDER OPTIONS file,
looked in VIEW and the REMEMBER FOLDER SETTINGS options
is clicked. i've even clicked the APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS
box - the MY DOCUMENTS folder changed to ICONS, but the
MY COMPUTER changed back to TILES again. this is really
driving me crazy me. please help.

sorry about this but i just want to be sure - is that
no.2 INCREASE FOLDER VIEW SIZE LIMIT TO 8000 (it's just
that no.4 says REPAIR THE ICON VIEW)?
