folder don't open on double click but opens search window

Dear potential helper
A strange change of windows suddenly occured (for no
obvious reason).
Earlier, when double clicking (left) on a folder, it would
open. Now suddenly windows responds by opening a search
window for that folder. When right clicking on it, I
see 'Search'in bold on the top (default I guess) and with
Explore and Open below.
How can I move Open or Explore to the top as default
action for double clicking?

[The Unknown P]

This is a known issue in XP and an old one at that. This
happens when you go into your folder options and start
looking at some of the file associations. The fix is quite
simple really. go>start\run and type in regsvr32 /i
shell32 and hit ok. Be sure you put the space after the 32
and the i . Write this down for future reference. Have
fun.

Sceptical about (me Thomas ) but did as described on
