Folder Displaying instead of file...

Hi...
I am developing a new website. while testing the site i came to know
that when i typed the full path in the address bar, instead of opening
the file IE opens the folder and displays the folder contents. Can
anyone tell me what is the problem and how can i solve it.

You can have a folder called for instance "news" and in that folder you
create an index /default page, then you can address the folder like
www.myweb.com/news and the index /default page will open.
