Folder context menu

To add the "Command Prompt" context menu, I went to Folder Options | File
Types
and added new item (cmd.exe) to "Folder" and "File Folder" types. After I
decided
to remove the item. But there was no way to remove it thru the Folder
Options because
the remove button was disabled. So I launched the regedit and removed all
occurrences
of "Command Prompt". And now the "Search..." item became as default command.
Double-clicking on a folder opens a search box. How to restore the previous
order?

This is a real common problem.

Try this first.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

A tip from David Candy.

If that doesn't fix it, see these...

Regedit : [HKCR\Directory\shell], set Default value to "none" (without quotes)

Thanks a lot for this pointer. I had made the same mistake while trying to
get "Command Prompt Here". Now I fixed it following the article you pointed
to. It was a big help.
