Folder Brackets

G'day all,

I have got this one from one of our Senior Club Members here and I don't
know what the answer to it is. Can you have a look please and give me your
thoughts.

I feel that they is something wrong in the file associations but I can't
find anything in there about Folders.

Recently he has had a problem trying to put jpegs on a CD to play in his DVD
player but that hasn't been doing what it should so I don't know if there is
any connection with below.

" A strange event did occur a little while ago which has me somewhat
nonplussed.

Decided to change the file name of the JPEG folder images I have been
working with - Name contained brackets ( )
& thought removing them might make a difference ?

As soon as the last bracket was removed all files replicated into MPEG.(
Folder now has 280 each JPEG & MPEG files)
MPEG files have original file name with brackets as oppopsed to the changed
JPEG.. "

Hoping someone can help

Any strange event is the trigger to check the computer's Malware status.
As soon as the last bracket was removed all files replicated into
MPEG.( Folder now has 280 each JPEG & MPEG files)

changed JPEG.. "

Note that there is some Malware around tampering and renaming Multimedia
files in particular.

Thanks for that D-D, is it possible to give me any more information as to
how he may be able to get them renamed back to what they were etc???

Make sure that the JPEG files are not corrupted. If this is the case, you
may want to delete the MPEG replicates. If you want to rename the JPEG
files, use the Explorer - concerning 280 files it's best when doing this
manually rather than using third-party tools and a Senior Club should
have some spare time left anyway. ;)

If you encounter any problems when deleting and/or renaming these files,
this might be caused by active Malware. Otherwise, check the system for
Malware as well since nothing comes out of the blue. Good luck!

Many thanks D-D, I will pass that on.

Yes some members of this Senior Group have plenty of time to spare, some
don't :))))

LOL! Maybe they are busy with growing Tasmanian Devils. ;)

With the facial tumors that is so rife amongst them something needs to be
done for their survival but there are a lot of them in the Tasmanian bush
mate
