Folder And File Attributes..

I just started using XP and I'm not having much success changing folder
and or file attributes from "read only."

For example, I installed Mozilla and was to change the folder it's in
from "read only" and it said the folder and all files and subfolders
would be changed but it doesn't stay that way. When I go back to the
folder it's "read only" again.

I was told this is the way XP works?

Noone respects Read-only attrib for folders. You can change the folder, create a
new file, delete the folder or whatever you want even if it is read-only. For
files, yes it matters. It matters because you cant overwrite read-only file but
you can still delete it, rename it, move it, copy it etc.

For folders, the readonly box is does not mean that. Right click on the box
for more information.
