Folder Access Problem

R

Richard Richter

I have a Windows SBS 2003 Network. One of the Workstations has Windows XP
Professional SP2. I removed a program using the Control Panel. The folder
was not removed. When I try to remove the folder, I get the following window
and message:

Error Deleting File or Folder

Cannot delete Tigers. Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or
write protected and that the file is not currently in use.

I can assure you that none of the options apply. When I open the properties,
the Read-only check box is checked and grayed out. If I try to remove the
check, it appears to uncheck until I reopen the properties and it is checked
and grayed out.

Any ideas on how to delete the folder? I would appreciate any help I can
get.

Thank you,
Richard Richter

Can you try and reboot and then try to delete the files? Sometimes it won't
let you delete them because they are in use. Try booting into safe mode and
delete them. If that doesn't work, you could try and mess with permissions
and ownership, or see if any of the files in the folder are currently
running in your process list. Give those a try.
