I have a simple inventory database and it requires that the product be in the
table before it can be entered on the receiving form. I made a button to open
the product form to allow you to enter the new part but it does not show up
on my receiving form unless I close it and then reopen. Isn't there a get
focus or something that will allow me to enter and update the other form
without closing it?

I'm assuming you have a combobox for selecting the product to receive. If
that's the case, then add something like this to the close event of the
product form:

Forms!YourReceivingForm!YourProductCombobox.Requery
