Floppy problem

B

Bill Ridgeway

I'm getting an error message "Please insert a disk into Drive A:". The
floppy disks are readable. I've changed drives (twice) and the ribbon
cable.

Any ideas what is wrong and how to correct it please?

Thanks.

Go to device manager and uninstall the floppy.
Shut down the PC.
Unplug the ribbon cable.
Boot pc into the bios.
Set the floppy to none.
Save and exit to windows

Shut down pc.
Reconnect ribbon cable.
Boot to bios.
Set the floppy back 1.4
Save and exit back to windows.

This always works for me.
