Floppy drives supported by Vista 64?

For various reasons, I would like to have a floppy drive, but have been
unable to find any with a Vista 64 driver, so I wondered if there are any
floppy drives that are natively supported by Vista 64? Or if anybody here
know of a drive with a working Vista 64 driver?

Hi, Trond.

What problem?

My 15-year-old combo (5.25" and 3.5" in a single case) floppy drive works
just fine in my Vista Ultimate x64 machine. ;<)

I have no idea what "driver" it is using. I simply plugged the floppy drive
cable into FDD1 on my EPoX MF570sli motherboard, just like I've done with
every mobo for nearly 30 years. The support is built into the mobo and its
chipset; I have no idea about the details. Oh, and then I enter the BIOS
utility to make sure that floppy support is enabled.

If you tell us the make and model of your computer, or of your motherboard
if you built it yourself, someone here might recognize it and offer specific
suggestions. You might also mention which models of floppy drive you've
considered.

Thanks for the advice, and you're right: Vista 64 recognized and installed
the necessary floppy driver automatically on booting, Great!
Guess I have become overly skeptical after fighting for days to find a
driver for my faithful, old Agfa Snapscan scanner, only to find out that
Agfa has ceased supporting it, and that no Vista drivers will be
forthcoming. But I have a copy of Windows 2000 that I plan to install
alongside Vista, with the help of the OSL2000 bootloader, and the Snapscan
should work faultlessly from there

Does anyone know if I should expect problems with Windows 2000 on my new AMD
64 dual core machine with 4 giga RAM (apart from only 3.2 Giga being
recognized)?
